A group of local residents, community groups, students from schools and businesses have set up “Friends of Eton Grove Park” project. The group’s primary role is to bring local activities and life back to Eton Grove Park “The Crown Jewel” of Queensbury by means of securing funding.
The group will engage with local residents to improve the children’s Play facilities, Activity / Sports areas for the young and other facilities for residents. Our aim is to apply consistent but gentle pressure and persuade Brent Council to spend money to improve Eton Grove Park.
We have been informed by Brent Head of Sports that there is an amount of capital money to improve the tennis courts following concerns raised by previous ward councillor. A planning application will be submitted to resurface the existing four court tarmac area. Install a single multi use Games Area as per survey carried out with students in local schools. Re-provide two full size tennis courts. Provide an outdoor ball games suitable for those age 9 to 13 e.g. Single basketball/netball goals, targets and an outdoor table tennis table.
In addition to the above, the boarded up “Eton Nursery” in the Park has been given out to tender by Brent Property management team. Hopefully this will be taken over soon to bring life back to Eton Grove Park. We will keep the resident informed as progress is made on this project.
